Using this site means you accept these terms
These terms cover your use of this website and any work you hire Barrier Memphis Insulation Company to do. When you browse the site, send us a request or book a job with us, you agree to them, so please read them before you do.
If you don't agree with something here, please don't use the site. Call us first and we'll talk it through.
What we do
Barrier Memphis Insulation Company is an insulation contractor in Memphis, TN. We insulate attics, walls, crawl spaces and basements, install spray foam and blown-in insulation, which is loose fill blown through a hose, remove old insulation, put down vapor barriers and seal air leaks for homes and businesses in Memphis and the cities around it. You can see the full list of services on our home page and learn more about our crew on our About page.
What's on this site is general information about insulation work. It isn't advice for your particular house, because we can't tell what your attic or crawl space needs until we've seen it.
Estimates and pricing
We give free estimates at your property, with no pressure and no obligation. The price on your estimate is based on what we can see and reach that day, including the size of the space, how many inches of insulation are already up there, how easy it is to get to and which material you choose.
Some things only show up once the job is open, such as old insulation that's wet or full of droppings, rot in the framing or gaps we couldn't reach. If we find something like that, we'll stop, show you and explain the cost before we do any extra work, and nothing is added to your bill unless you agree to it.
An estimate stays good for the time written on it. After that, material costs may have changed, so we may need to update it.
Scheduling, access and cancellation
We'll set a day and a rough arrival window with you, and we'll call if weather, a delay on an earlier job or a supply problem pushes us back. Please clear a path to your attic hatch, crawl space or work area and keep kids and pets out of the way while we work.
Some jobs, especially spray foam, mean you'll need to stay out of the house for a while after we finish. We'll tell you before the job how long that is and when it's safe to come back inside, and you agree to follow those instructions.
If you need to cancel or move your appointment, let us know as soon as you can at (901) 203-1514. If you cancel after we've ordered special materials for your job, you may owe for those materials.
Payment
Payment is due when the work is finished, unless your written estimate or agreement sets out a different schedule, such as a deposit on larger jobs. We'll tell you which forms of payment we accept before the work starts.
If a balance goes unpaid, we may charge the costs of collecting it where the law allows, and we may hold off on further work until the account is current.
Our guarantee and its limits
We're licensed and insured, and we stand behind our work with satisfaction guaranteed on every job. If something we installed isn't right, call us and we'll come back and make it right.
We don't promise a set drop in your power bill or a set temperature in any room, because those depend on your heating and cooling system, your ductwork, your windows, the weather and how you live in the house. Materials carry the maker's own warranty, and that warranty is between you and the maker.
Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from leaks, pests, storms, other contractors' work or changes made to the space after we leave. Apart from what we've written here or on your estimate, we make no other promises about our work or this website, to the extent the law allows.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, our responsibility for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We aren't responsible for indirect losses, such as lost use of a room or higher bills, or for problems that existed in the house before we started.
We try to keep this website accurate, but it's offered as it is. We aren't responsible for mistakes on the site or for any loss that comes from relying on it instead of an estimate from our crew.
If we disagree
If you're unhappy with anything, call us first, because most problems get fixed fastest with a visit and an honest conversation. If we can't settle it that way, we'll both try in good faith to work it out before either of us takes it further.
If a dispute still can't be settled, it will be heard in the state or federal courts in Shelby County, Tennessee, though either of us may use small claims court if the claim qualifies.
Which state's law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, where we're based. That holds for jobs we do in Mississippi or Arkansas too, unless the law of that state says otherwise for your job.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted here is the one that applies. If we change them after you've signed an estimate, the terms you agreed to at the time stay in place for that job.
